Secondary School – Grades 7 - 10

We deliver the academically rigorous and internationally recognised Australian Curriculum as our Secondary School (7-10) programme. The curriculum is designed for young people to become lifelong learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed global citizens. 

The curriculum is a developmental sequence that recognises the importance of disciplinary knowledge, skills, and understanding. Students learn in their key learning areas (KLAs) as well as through interdisciplinary inquiry. 

We use assessment as an ongoing process that informs teaching and learning. Our assessment structure allows teachers and students to identify areas of achievement as well as areas that need further development. Assessment is continuous and teachers provide effective feedback that allows students to build on their knowledge and master the required skills for progression. 

We use the General Capabilities as foundational to our teaching and learning. These are the skills students need to master for further studies and to be ready for the workforce and global citizenship. They are literacy, numeracy, information and communication technology (ICT) capability, personal and social capability, critical and creative thinking, personal and social capability, ethical understanding, and intercultural understanding. 

Teaching pedagogy is guided and assessed against the highly researched and implemented Quality Teaching Framework which identifies intellectual quality, quality learning environment, and real world significance as the key dimensions of effective teaching and learning.
