DIS offers educational programs for children from Playgroup (approximately 18 months) to year 12 (18 years).  Dili International School’s curriculum from preschool to grade 12 is based on the  The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, Australian Curriculum and the Victorian Certificate of Education.

Dili International school is an authorized International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programmeand Primary Years Programmeworld school and accredited, through our partnership with Haileybury School, to deliver the Victorian Certificate of Education

Dili International School’s mission and vision are underpinned by the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians and the International Baccalaureate Programme Standards and Practices.

We strive to ensure that our educational programmes promote equity and excellence and ensure that our students become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. These goals provide our school community with a focus for the development of both policy and practice.

To ensure we meet our educational goals Dili International School has adopted the Australian Curriculum frameworks from preschool to grade 12. The adoption of a single set of curricular documents with slight modifications to allow for our unique educational context ensures that there is consistency and accountability in teaching and learning.

At Dili International School The Early Years Learning Framework for AustraliaThe Australian Curriculum v4.0 © and The Victorian Certificate of Education are the key documents used when planning and monitoring teaching and learning.  These scope and sequence documents provide a coherent, articulated educational experience for students. In addition they provide our school community with a wealth of curriculum resources to draw upon when designing engaging educational activities tailored to meet our local context.  In the primary school teachers use the IB Primary Years Programme as a pedagogical framework to deliver the curriculum. In the middle school the IB MYP is used as the pedagogical framework to deliver our curriculum.

As an IB World School intercultural awareness and communication are at the core of teaching and learning.  We strive to incorporate and celebrate  the culture of Timor Leste and the cultures of the many other nationalities that form our international school community.
